Baylan Skoll

While still a young man, Skoll saw everything he knew perish, and later explained to his apprentice that he regarded the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire as an inevitable repetition of what had happened before. Having survived the Great Purge, he took up mercenary work and, together with his apprentice Shin Hati, hired on with Morgan Elsbeth, who was seeking a way to reach Grand Admiral Thrawn. Their search crossed paths with that of Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, who were looking for the Padawan Ezra Bridger.

On the planet Seatos, Skoll fought Tano and defeated her, and Wren was taken prisoner. After reaching Peridea and sensing its connection to the Force, he met with Thrawn, but the plans of Elsbeth and the grand admiral did not interest him.

Having received orders to eliminate Bridger and Wren, Skoll diverged from his apprentice in their views on the future and left her, deciding that her destiny would not be fulfilled at his side. After a brief encounter with Tano, he continued his own search and came upon an enormous sculpture of the so-called gods of Mortis, standing on the statue of the Father, which pointed toward a distant shimmering light.
