Description
The Rising Storm is a canon novel by Cavan Scott, released on June 29, 2021, as part of the multimedia initiative Star Wars: The High Republic. The book was announced at the initiative's panel during New York Comic Con and continues the main storyline of the first phase.
The story begins several months after the events of Light of the Jedi. It is told from the perspectives of several characters: Jedi Masters Stellan Gios and Elzar Mann, the Padawan Bell Zettifar, the former Jedi Ty Yorrick, and the reporter Rhil Dairo. The plot is built around the preparation and holding of the Republic Fair on the planet Valo, a major celebration meant to affirm the unity of the Republic, and around the Order's response to the Nihil marauders.
The novel occupies the middle position in the first phase: it develops the conflict begun in Light of the Jedi and leads into the events of the novel The Fallen Star.
