Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Description

The sequel to the role-playing game Knights of the Old Republic, developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The Xbox version was released on December 6, 2004, and the Windows version on February 8, 2005; editions for Mac OS X, Linux, mobile platforms, and the Nintendo Switch appeared later. Chris Avellone served as lead designer and writer, and Mark Griskey composed the music. The game uses the same Odyssey Engine as the first installment.

The events take place five years after the ending of the previous game, in the era of the Old Republic, when the Jedi Order has been nearly wiped out. The protagonist is the Exile, a Jedi stripped of her place in the Order; the game begins with her awakening on a mining station in an asteroid belt. As before, choices of dialogue and actions shift the character toward the light or dark side.

The sequel is noted for its more ambiguous moral treatment of the Force and the Order; the companion Kreia became especially well known. The game was released in an unfinished state, which gave rise to an extensive tradition of fan-made restoration mods.
