Rogue Planet

Description

Rogue Planet is a novel by the well-known science fiction author Greg Bear, published by Del Rey on May 2, 2000, at around 352 pages. It is one of the first Expanded Universe books written for the gap between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, and Bear's only Star Wars work.

The events are set in 29 BBY. The main characters are the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young Padawan Anakin Skywalker, whom the Council sends to the distant and little-studied planet Zonama Sekot, renowned for its living ships of incredible speed. The book devotes much attention to the relationship between master and apprentice in the early period of their work together.

The novel belongs to Legends. Zonama Sekot, introduced in it, later became an important plot element of The New Jedi Order series, making Rogue Planet a connecting link between the Republic era and the books about the war with the Yuuzhan Vong.
