The New Jedi Order: Destiny's Way

Description

The New Jedi Order: Destiny's Way is a novel by Walter Jon Williams, the fourteenth volume of The New Jedi Order series. It was first published by Del Rey in hardcover on October 1, 2002; the first paperback edition came out on July 29, 2003.

The book describes the situation of the New Republic after the fall of Coruscant, when the state is torn by internal strife and on the verge of capitulating to the Yuuzhan Vong. Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa Solo, their children, and their allies search for a way to turn the tide of the war; a separate storyline concerns attempts to draw the Imperial Remnant and Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon into the conflict.

The novel belongs to the Expanded Universe and the Legends continuity. It concludes the middle stage of the cycle and prepares the transition to the final volumes, including The Unifying Force. The book also develops the political institutions of the New Republic and the storyline of Zonama Sekot, introduced earlier in the novel Rogue Planet.
