In the trenches he meets “Captain” Tobias Beckett and his accomplices, who are posing as Imperial soldiers.

To avoid getting Beckett and Chewbacca killed, Han uncouples the car, and the cargo falls into the gorge and explodes.

The droid L3-37 removes the restraining bolts from the local droids and starts a slave uprising, while Han carries twelve canisters of unrefined coaxium out of the thermal vault. During the escape, L3-37 is destroyed by enemy fire and Lando is wounded.
