Ferrix
Profile
A reddish rocky planet with sparse vegetation in the Morlana system. Its inhabitants, in close-knit communities, salvaged and recycled starships, and the local parts markets were considered the best in the galaxy. Under the Empire the planet was run by a corporation, which ultimately led to an open clash between the townspeople and the garrison.

Description
Ferrix lay in the Morlana system, in the New Territories region of the Outer Rim. The planet's economy rested on recycling: its main exports were scrap metal and refurbished technology, and many inhabitants dismantled decommissioned ships, including Venator-class Star Destroyers.
During the Clone Wars the planet was part of the Galactic Republic, and immediately after the war the Empire arose in its place and soon established its presence on Ferrix. The appearance of Imperial troops provoked a protest on Rix Road: stones were thrown at the soldiers marching across the main square, and an officer ordered weapons to be turned on the inhabitants. In response to the execution of Clem Andor, his son Cassian tried to attack the soldiers with a club but was seized and arrested. The planet long avoided open confrontation, but in the end became the site of an uprising against Imperial rule.
