Endor

The forest moon of Endor orbits the gas giant of the same name in a system lying in the Outer Rim. The moon is covered with coniferous forests of gigantically tall trees, among which live the Ewoks — small sentient beings who build settlements in the branches.

The Empire stationed a garrison on the moon along with a shield generator protecting the second battle station under construction in orbit. The ground approaches were guarded by speeder bike patrols and walkers.

An Alliance strike team that landed there won the support of the Ewoks and disabled the generator, which allowed the fleet to attack the station from within. The Battle of Endor ended with the death of the Emperor and the destruction of the station, becoming a turning point in the Galactic Civil War.
