Bespin

Bespin is a gas giant in the star system of the same name in the Anoat sector. The planet's wealth lay in the rare Tibanna gas, whose deposits attracted mining companies, while the world itself remained outside galactic alliances and took no part in politics.

Tibanna was extracted by Ugnauts at facilities held aloft by repulsorlift installations deep in the atmosphere. The main population, predominantly human, lived on the open upper tiers, through which ran a thin layer of breathable air — a region known as the Life Zone. It was on these levels that the inhabited platforms of the mining settlements were located.
