Second Battle of Obroa-skai
Jaina Solo's strike group attacked a huge worldship believed to be the Supreme Overlord's flagship. The turning point came with the Hapan Battle Dragons under Tenel Ka. The ship turned out to belong to someone else, but the destroyed fleet was the invaders' last extragalactic reserve, and they received no more reinforcements from outside.
Description
In 28 ABY, New Republic intelligence concluded that the flagship worldship of Supreme Overlord Shimrra of the Yuuzhan Vong was located at Obroa-skai. The strike group was led by Jaina Solo; the forces of the Hapes Consortium fought on the Republic's side, and their participation proved decisive. The battle ended in victory, but the after-action review revealed an intelligence error: Shimrra had not been killed and had not taken part in the battle. The flagship belonged to Supreme Commander Komm Karsh — according to Tenel Ka, a rank second only to the Warmaster in the Yuuzhan Vong military hierarchy. The true significance of the victory became clear later: Karsh's fleet was the invaders' only extragalactic reserve, and after its destruction the Yuuzhan Vong could no longer count on reinforcements from beyond the galaxy. The joint operations also strengthened the New Republic's ties with Hapes, bringing it closer to joining the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. Losses included the abandoned ship Pulsar and the cruiser Far Thunder, which was lost shortly after the battle.
