Warning: this entry reveals minor plot details.

On an abandoned station, Jedi carelessly released ancient predatory creatures that had lain dormant in confinement for many years.

Description

An abandoned station that had once belonged to the Amaxine warriors served as a relay built for the war against the Drengir, predatory plant creatures that feed on flesh and spread darkness around them. The Amaxines were defeated and consumed, and the Drengir themselves were held in a torpor by a special arrangement of statues on the station. After the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Jedi were trapped on the station, the Wayseeker Orla Jareni, the Knight Dez Rydan, Master Cohmac Vitus, and the Padawan Reath Silas, together with the crew of a cargo ship. While working out how the station functioned, they disturbed the arrangement of the statues, and the creatures awoke. The Jedi managed to return the statues to their former positions and plunge the station's inhabitants back into torpor, and to destroy a group of Drengir that had broken loose by pushing their pod out into hyperspace. However, the Great Progenitor had managed to awaken and survive: after her, the remaining Drengir across the galaxy awoke, and the Order had to wage a separate protracted war against them.
