Morgan Elsbeth escapes New Republic custody
On the way to her New Republic trial, Morgan Elsbeth is freed by the mercenaries Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, after which she resumes her search for a way to reach Thrawn.
Description
Morgan Elsbeth, the magistrate of Calodan and a witch of the Nightsisters, was an ally of Grand Admiral Thrawn and a participant in the plan to bring him back. She was detained by Ahsoka Tano, and from the prisoner the existence of a secret map needed by the conspirators became known. Elsbeth was to stand trial before the New Republic. On the way to the trial the convoy was intercepted: the prisoner was freed by the hired Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati, who wielded lightsabers. The liberation derailed the proceedings, which later appeared in the New Republic archives as the Morgan Elsbeth conspiracy. Once free, Elsbeth continued preparing the expedition: her forces were to seize the map of the route to another galaxy and activate the hyperspace transport ring. Republic senators treated reports of the threat with skepticism, which gave the conspirators the time they needed.
